Lochinvar extends indirect options to meet changing demand

The increased use of renewable energy sources in combination with traditional gas-fired systems is driving demand for more flexible commercial heating and hot water solutions.

As a result, boiler and water heater manufacturer Lochinvar has expanded its wide range of indirect storage vessels. These products are capable of capturing energy from a variety of renewable sources, including solar thermal systems and air source heat pumps, and/or working as part of traditional LTHW systems.

The range includes models with either single or twin coil. Oversized coils for use with renewable energy or to provide rapid recovery, when used for domestic hot water production, are also offered as an option with all single coil models.

The company’s Squire indirect storage vessels are offered with single or twin coils and in capacities of 300 and 450 litres.  SIT models have a single coil and SDT models are twin coil. The lower coil on the SDT can be used with a solar thermal or other renewable system and the upper coil with a traditional boiler. Alternatively, both coils can be used with a boiler to increase hot water recovery rates.

All Squire models are suitable for systems with a maximum working pressure of up to 10bar and are finished in a grey outer casing with black base and lid.

Fast recovery

Lochinvar’s SSCF and STCF indirect storage vessels are also available with single or twin coils. Capacities range from 150 to 3,000 litres. SSCF models have a high output single coil designed to extract maximum efficiency from a range of renewable sources. If used as a traditional storage vessel in a LTHW system, this large coil will provide very fast hot water recovery rates.

STCF models feature two coils; and again the lower coil is suitable for use with a renewable source and the upper coil with a traditional boiler. Both coils can be used with a boiler to increase hot water recovery rates. All SSCF and STCF indirect storage vessels are suitable for systems with a maximum working pressure up to 5bar and are finished with a plasticol outer casing.

Lochinvar also offers a bespoke storage vessel design and manufacture service to meet specific project requirements.
