Elmore Appointed Vice-Chair of ICOM Commercial Heating Group

Lochinvar’s sales director Liam Elmore has been appointed as vice-chair of ICOM’s Commercial Heating Group.

ICOM is the Industrial and Commercial Heating Equipment Association and has been representing and promoting the interests of the non-domestic heating sector since 1933. It works with the government and collaborates with other professional and trade bodies on technical and commercial issues. It also plays an important role in the development of product and installation standards.

Originally the British Oil Burner Manufacturer’s Association (BOBMA), ICOM has extended its reach and membership steadily over the past 90 years so that it now covers all aspects of energy related business activities in a bid to continually improve heating and hot water solutions for the benefit of the industry’s clients and the environment.

“It is a major honour to be appointed vice-chair of such an important industry group,” said Liam. “Lochinvar has been an active member of ICOM for many years and regards its cross-sector work as extremely valuable – particularly when it comes to representing the interests of our members and the wider industry at government level.

“I look forward to working with the ICOM team and our fellow members to champion the key role of industrial and commercial heating and hot water solutions in the UK’s push towards net zero.”

The Association runs several product-related groups, which meet to network and discuss technical and commercial issues. It also forms targeted working groups to address specific issues as they arise and to deliver technical advice to government departments.

The Commercial Heating Group comprises senior representatives from member companies and is instrumental in forming ICOM’s policy and direction.

“Our members work together to protect and promote the industry and our work is valued at all levels as the voice of the industrial and commercial heating industry,” said Steve McConnell, ICOM’s director.

“We are delighted that Liam has agreed to take up this important role. He has a breadth of industry knowledge and experience that will help us navigate the many challenges and opportunities confronting the sector at this key time in our history.”
