Delivering Sustainable DHW for High-Performance Sports Training Facility

Introduction

A high-performance sports training facility in the North West required a reliable, energy-efficient domestic hot water (DHW) solution to support its intensive daily operations. With a focus on reducing carbon emissions and operating costs, the site sought a modern alternative to traditional hot water systems.

Lochinvar was selected to supply and commission a heat pump-based solution capable of meeting the facility’s consistent and high-volume DHW demand, while aligning with wider sustainability goals.

Project Objectives

The project needed to deliver a robust and efficient hot water system that could support a demanding usage profile, including changing rooms, showers and welfare facilities used throughout the day.

Solution

Lochinvar supplied and commissioned two Amicus AquaStore heat pump water heaters as part of the site’s upgraded DHW system.

Designed specifically for commercial applications, the Amicus AquaStore units utilise renewable heat energy from the surrounding air to efficiently generate hot water. This approach significantly reduces reliance on fossil fuels while maintaining high performance and reliability.

The twin-unit configuration provides enhanced system resilience and ensures continuity of hot water supply during periods of high demand. The system was tailored to meet the facility’s specific load requirements, delivering efficient and consistent DHW to multiple outlets across the site.

  • High-efficiency DHW generation using air source heat pump technology
  • Reduced carbon emissions compared to traditional gas-fired systems
