Bentall Shopping Centre Decarbonise DHW with AquaStore Water Heaters
Introduction
Bentall Shopping Centre in Kingston required a reliable and energy-efficient domestic hot water (DHW) solution to serve its public toilet facilities. With high daily footfall, the system needed to deliver consistent performance while reducing energy consumption and supporting a more sustainable approach to building services.
Project Objectives
The primary objective was to provide a dependable hot water solution capable of meeting the demands of busy public washroom facilities. The client required a system that would improve energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and align with increasing sustainability expectations for commercial properties.
A further consideration was the ease of installation and integration within the existing plant area, ensuring minimal disruption to the shopping centre’s daily operations.
The Solution
To meet these requirements, two Lochinvar Amicus AquaStore Heat Pump Water Heaters were recommended by Allcool to the building owners. Allcool delivered a turnkey operation of installation for the customer. These units were selected for their ability to efficiently generate hot water by utilising ambient heat, significantly reducing energy consumption compared to traditional electric-only systems.
The Amicus AquaStore units provide a low-carbon, high-efficiency solution ideally suited to the demands of public washroom facilities, delivering consistent hot water while lowering running costs.
The installation offers Bentall Shopping Centre a reliable and sustainable DHW system that supports both operational performance and environmental goals.
