After an outstanding career spanning nearly five decades, Gary Webster has decided to retire.
Gary began his journey in the industry in 1974, completing a four-year apprenticeship in heating and plumbing. Over the years, he worked with various mechanical contractors, gaining extensive knowledge and experience. In 1980, he took the leap into self-employment, focusing on plumbing and heating.
His career evolved further in 1984 when he moved into the hot water storage sector, leading him to various sales roles with well-known companies in the industry. Gary later served as a regional manager, overseeing operations in the North East of England and Scotland. Following a successful period in the role, he transitioned into self-employment as a manufacturers’ agent, representing numerous brands for over 20 years.
In February 2012, Gary joined Lochinvar. Initially balancing his time across multiple agencies, Lochinvar soon became his primary focus, and he played a key role in developing the region.
Beyond his professional achievements, Gary is a passionate golfer. His love for the game has taken him to courses across the world. A devoted fan of jazz and blues, he enjoys attending concerts across the UK with his wife, Carol. Together, they share a love of travel, regularly visiting destinations such as Italy, France, Greece, Spain, and Barbados, as well as exploring the UK’s scenic spots like the Lake District and the Cotswolds.
Above all, Gary treasures time with his family. He and Carol have two daughters and four grandchildren, and they take great joy in watching them grow.
Gary’s knowledge, dedication, and character have left a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike. As he embarks on this exciting new chapter, we wish him a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.
Graeme Matier will be taking over the East Midlands are from Gary on the 12th May. A further announcement to introduce Graeme will be issued shortly.
