Heat Pump Commissioning
Customers can choose to have their Lochinvar heat pump system commissioned by Lochinvar's expert technical team. By choosing to have the manufacturer commission your system you'll benefit from enhanced warranty terms which exceed the standard 12-month parts warranty, boosting your warranty to 3-years. Our experts will conduct a pre-commission checklist with you to ensure the commissioning goes smoothly on the day.
Hydraulic Systems
Lochinvar commissioning of the heat pump hydraulic systems ensures reliable operation, optimum heat transfer, and maximum energy efficiency from day one. By accurately setting and verifying flow temperatures, system pressures, and pump performance during commissioning, we ensure the system operates exactly as designed. Checking and cleaning strainers and air separators prevents blockages and air ingress, protecting components and ensuring consistent, high-quality performance throughout the system’s life.
FGAS Regulations & Refrigeration Circuits
Our FGAS-compliant commissioning safeguards both performance and environmental responsibility. Through detailed inspections, accurate pressure and temperature recording, refrigerant cycle optimisation, and proactive leak detection, we ensure the refrigeration circuits are set up to operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory requirements. Water Heater Commissioning
As a manufacturer of water heaters, both gas-fired and electric, our teams are well suited to supporting you with commissioning. Our commissioning service is provided by our knowledgeable Technical Services team who boast a nationwide team of field engineers. Our commissioning ensures the entire system is safe to use and has been installed in accordance with our specification.
Preliminary Visual Checks
Our engineers complete a comprehensive visual check which includes inspection of pipework arrangement, unvented system arrangement and emergency gas control.
Combustion Checks
Combustion checks are completed to ensure safety and compliance of the water heater, flue details are noted and pressure readings are taken. Combustion efficiency tests are also completed which include measuring temperatures, efficiency readings and both CO and CO2 across both high-fire and low-fire.
Safety Controls
Our engineers will check the system's safety controls which include thermostats, fault relay, operation of the flow switch, operation of the interlocks, operation of the flue boost amongst other checks before grading the unit is safe to operate.
Water-Side Checks
Our water-side checks involve thorough inspection of correx, isolation valves, anodes, clearances, compression valves, isolation valves, water hardness level and the type of water conditioner and softener installed (if installed).
Solar Preheat
Where applicable, our engineers will check the relevant solar unvented kit and that the building return is positioned correctly. We'll also ensure pasteurisation loop from the primary heat source is installed correctly and non-return valve is in place.
Boiler Commissioning
Our range of boilers are used in various commercial projects and our Technical Services team can support your project by commissioning the heating system when it's all installed to ensure the system is safe and has been installed in accordance with the specifications for your unit. Combustion Checks
Combustion checks are completed to ensure safety and compliance of the boiler. Combustion efficiency tests are completed which include measuring temperatures, efficiency readings and both CO and CO2 across both high-fire and low-fire. We'll also check the flue flow and conduct a combustion product recirculation test.
Safety Controls
As part of our safety control checks the boiler set points will be checked at both high limit and operating temperature operation. Our engineers will check the fault relay and note the signal voltage along with operating the siphon pressure switch and interlocks.
External Controls & DHW
If a BMS is being used, our engineers will ensure the BMS operates the system correctly including minimum set point temperatures, open therm controller, e-bus controller and outside temperature sensor. If the system is being used for DHW, we'll check this too.
Cascade
Where a boiler system runs as a cascade, our team will check boiler designation, cascade flow sensor position and DHW on entire cascade.
Water-Side Checks
Our engineers will review operation of isolation valves, water soundness and ensure adequate clearances. Our water-side checks also include inspection of dirt/air separators, water hardness level, presence of water softener (where applicable) and whether there's an inhibitor in the system.
